Nancy keeps the office, schedule, and customer communication from wandering into the weeds. Ivan keeps the vehicles from doing the same.
Together, Bennett Built Customs gives Georgetown-area drivers straight answers, fair prices, and mobile service without the shop-counter runaround.
Local people. Straight answers. No fancy-pants runaround.
Follow the builds, the head-scratchers, and the cool vehicles that keep life interesting. Around here, “leave it stock” is merely a suggestion.
Our own truck, one greasy decision at a time—from the first wrench turned to the next trip down the strip.
This 5.7L Hemi is the Bennett Built street/strip project truck. It already has an MDS delete, because four cylinders taking a nap was not invited, and we’ll document each next move as the build takes shape.

The next milestone—with the parts, results, and busted knuckles that got it there.
The memorable ones—the kind that make you wipe your hands before leaning on the fender.

Most cars come to us to live longer. This one? We’re building it to go out swinging.
This dark gray Honda Accord sedan is our demolition derby project car, and teardown is officially underway. Derby rule No. 1: if it doesn’t help the car run, steer, or take a hit, it comes out — so the back seat, rear interior, trunk trim, and center console are already out, and a door panel is off. Trim in a pile in the driveway might look like a mess to everybody else. To us, that’s progress.
She started the day a perfectly normal family sedan. She ended it several armloads lighter and looking at a future that definitely ain’t right — and that’s exactly the plan.

Back seat out, rear interior & trunk trim pulled, center console out, door panel off
Finish the strip-down, then prep her for derby night
We can’t agree on the paint, so y’all get to pick it. All four looks are mocked up on our actual car — every one of them carries the big 502, Bennett Built Customs, and Bluegrass Seamless Solutions, done in spray paint and vinyl. Whichever look wins is the one we build for the Scott County Fair demolition derby.
Voting ends Sunday night, November 1
Gray, black, and white camo sprayed over the whole car, with a big white 502 on the door. She’ll blend in everywhere except the derby pit.
Matte black with a yellow 502 and black-and-yellow hazard stripes down low. Basically a warning label with a motor in it.
Desert tan all over, black stencil 502, and a big black star on the rear door. Reporting for derby duty, whether the Army asked or not.
Clean white, Bennett Built Customs across the top, and a black 502 outlined in red. The classy one — right up until the first hit.
That vote didn’t go through from here — no worries. Text your pick to (502) 234-1627 and we’ll count it by hand.
We’ll announce the winning look once voting closes Sunday night, then the spray paint comes out for real.
The same poll is running on our Facebook page — vote here or there (one place is plenty, so your pick counts once). Rather text it in? Send a number, 1–4, to (502) 234-1627.
It is written: when the leaves turn and the driveway fills with trim, a humble family sedan shall shed her back seat, surrender her cupholders, and rise again as a derby car. She shall not go quietly. She shall go loud, sideways, and missing at least one door panel. The stars say she’ll take three hits for every one she gives — and the last one, she gives back with interest. A shirt worn in her honor shall be soaked in sweat, splashed with antifreeze, and retired a legend.
So it is foretold · So it shall be smashed
Follow along — we’ll add the next round of photos as the strip-down finishes and derby prep takes over. And if you haven’t voted yet, pick the paint up above before Sunday night.

Y'all did that. Bennett Built Customs finished 2nd place in Local Faves on the Nextdoor app — voted on by the actual neighbors we roll up and fix cars for. No ad budget, no funny business, just folks telling other folks we show up and fix it right. From the bottom of our greasy hearts: thank you, Georgetown.
We're the heart and the hands of this outfit, but you're the reason the phone rings. Keep those faves and recommendations coming — and if your car starts acting foolish, you already know who to call.
Second place is a great view. First place has better parking — help us get there.
What local customers say after their vehicle quits carrying on.
“I finally found a mobile mechanic who actually knows how to repair a vehicle and actually SHOWS UP!!!!! AND his charges are reasonable. Ivan Bennett fixed my truck in an hour and I drove it 330 miles next day without any problems.. A local (so-called) repair shop on Connector Rd had charged me $225 to diagnose my issues AND wanted $965 to fix it!! Ivan is now building a local client base. He REALLY knows his sh*k, call him, he is on Next door website ...”— Terri/Dan Wells, via Nextdoor
“Great price. Took my 06 Corvette to have codes read and relearned some things. Owner and wife are very friendly and low cost compared to other places I have had it worked on.”— Andrew Penn, via Google
“Ivan Bennett does a great job. I had a small repair to a metal snowman decoration that needed repair. He responded quickly to my Next Door post. He said he could repair it ASAP. I went to his house and he repaired it in about 15 minutes. I highly recommend using him if you need welding or fabrication work!”— Nick Katko, Lexington, KY · via Nextdoor
“Honest, good work. Give him a call for your mobile mechanic needs.”— Aaron Young, Kentucky Ave · via Nextdoor
Want a mechanic who shows up and fixes the thing? Wild concept, we know.
Real trucks, real repairs, and finished work — starting with fresh brakes, because stopping is not a suggestion.
Your vehicle could be next—preferably back on the road instead of decorating the driveway.
Pick a time and tell us what fresh nonsense your vehicle started.
The stuff people want to know before they hand a stranger their keys. Don’t see yours? Call us—we don’t bite, and neither does the phone.
On parts we supply, yes—the supplier or manufacturer warranty passes straight through to you, and we stand behind the work we did.
Parts you bring us yourself don’t carry our warranty. We didn’t pick ’em, so we can’t vouch for ’em. The full rundown lives in our warranty policy.
Not to book. Getting on the schedule is free — the $85 diagnostic fee is due when Ivan arrives, before he starts looking. Approve a repair of $350 or more and that full $85 comes off your repair total.
Approved jobs take a 30% upfront deposit, with the rest due when the wrenching’s done. Bigger job than the wallet planned for? Affirm, Klarna, and Cash App Pay can split it up.
Then we tell you straight. No parts cannon, no mystery bill, no “we replaced six things and it still ain’t right.”
You’ll know exactly what we found, what it would take to fix it, and whether it’s worth fixing at all. The call is yours from there.
Really. We’re a mobile mechanic based in Georgetown, Kentucky—home, work, parking lot, wherever your vehicle decided to give up. No shop, no tow truck.
We cover Georgetown and the surrounding towns; just outside the list, call (502) 234-1627 and we’ll see if our tires reach your tires.

Rather talk it out first? Call (502) 234-1627—Mon–Fri 8 AM–7 PM, Sat 10 AM–3 PM, and Sundays for roadside emergencies.
Start your requestCall and tell us where your vehicle chose to become yard art. We’ll figure out the next move.
Three things is all we need: your name, your phone number, and the short version of what's acting up. Booking is free — send the request and we’ll confirm your appointment. The $85 diagnostic fee isn’t due until Ivan arrives, and it gets credited toward any repair of $350 or more if you approve the fix. Then you can quit arguing with the dashboard.
Point your phone camera here and get that misbehaving ride on the schedule.
Your request is in. We’ll confirm the appointment by phone or text, and the $85 diagnostic fee isn’t due until Ivan arrives — pay it then by cash, check, Cash App, Venmo, or card. Approve a repair of $350 or more and that full $85 comes off your total.
Approved jobs take a 30% upfront deposit, with the rest due when your vehicle quits acting foolish.
